Who we are
Vaibhav Visuals India Pvt Ltd (“we”, “us”) runs ShortFlix V, an Android app for watching short vertical series, and this website. We decide why and how the personal information described here is used.
This policy explains what we collect when you use the app or this website, why, who sees it, and what you can do about it.
What we collect
What you give us
- Google sign-in details. When you sign in, Google gives us your name, email address, profile picture and Google account ID. We never see your Google password.
- Date of birth. We ask for it before showing 16+, 18+ and adults-only shows, so we can apply the right age limits.
- Preferences. The genres and languages you choose, and your notification and parental-control settings.
- Parental PIN. If you set one, we store it only in scrambled (hashed) form. We cannot read it back.
- Messages to support. What you write in Help & Support, and the details you choose to attach, such as an episode you had trouble with.
- Invite codes. Codes you share or enter, so we know who invited whom.
What we record while you use the app
- What you watch or listen to, for how long, and where you stopped, so we can resume it for you and recommend shows.
- Likes, shows you saved to My List, Reels you viewed, skipped or saved, and screens you opened in the store.
- Your Gold balance and every Gold you earned or spent, your Premium plan and its dates, coupons you used, and purchase status.
- Notification choices and, for notifications, a device token that identifies your phone to Google’s push service.
From your phone and connection
- Your IP address, used to work out your approximate country (for regional availability), to protect the service from abuse and to keep it running.
- If the app closes unexpectedly and you tap Send report, the app version, phone model and technical details of the error. Nothing is sent unless you tap.
- When ads are shown, Google’s advertising technology may use your device’s advertising ID (see Ads below).
Payments
Purchases are made through Google Play. Google handles your payment method. We receive the plan, the amount, the status and an order reference, never your card or bank details.
How we use it
- To run the app: sign you in, keep your place, your list and your Gold, and unlock what you are entitled to.
- To show age-appropriate content and apply parental controls and regional availability.
- To recommend shows (“Picked for you”) and tell you about new episodes and releases you asked to hear about.
- To answer your support messages and fix problems.
- To prevent abuse, such as fake accounts and attempts to farm Gold.
- To understand how the service is used and to pay the studios that supply the shows (using totals, see below).
- To meet legal duties, such as keeping records the law requires.
Ads
The app may show ads, including rewarded ads you choose to watch to earn Gold. Ads are provided by Google AdMob, which may use your device’s advertising ID to show and measure ads. You can reset your advertising ID or turn off ad personalisation in your phone’s Google settings.
How long we keep it
- We keep your account information for as long as your account exists.
- Detailed second-by-second viewing records are trimmed after about 90 days. Totals that keep your place and your history stay with your account.
- Activity logs, such as the store screens you opened, ads or waits you were shown, and the Reels you viewed, skipped or saved, are used for offers and to see what works. They are deleted automatically after about 180 days.
- If you delete your account, we delete it and its data immediately. Copies in our private backups disappear as the backups expire, within about 30 days.
- We may keep a small amount of information longer where the law requires it, for example purchase records for tax purposes.
Your choices
- Delete your account in the app: Profile, Settings, Delete account. It takes effect immediately. If you cannot open the app, see how account deletion works.
- Change your details in Edit profile, and your genres and language in Settings.
- Turn notifications off in Settings, or in your phone’s system settings.
- Control mature content with Parental controls: hide it, or lock it behind a PIN.
- Ask us to show, correct or delete information we hold about you, or to stop a particular use, by writing to inbox.shortflix@gmail.com from the address you signed in with. We will answer within a reasonable time.
Age and children
Every show carries an age rating. For shows rated 16+, 18+ or adults only, the app asks for your date of birth first, and mature shows can be hidden or locked behind a PIN.
ShortFlix V is not meant for young children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has given us personal information, write to us and we will delete it.
Security
The app talks to our servers over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Passwords you create, such as a parental PIN, are stored in scrambled form. Access to our systems is limited to the people who need it, and our database backups are private. No online service is perfectly secure, so please keep your phone and Google account protected.
Where data is kept
Our servers and database run in India (Amazon Web Services, Mumbai region). Videos are delivered through a content network that serves them from locations near you. Google services we use process data in other countries as well.
This website
This website does not use cookies or analytics. If we add them, we will say so here and ask first where the law requires it.
Changes
We may update this policy. When we make an important change we will say so in the app or by notification, and the date at the top will change.

Grievance Officer: [Name]. You can write to the Grievance Officer at the same email address.
- Confirm obligations under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023: how consent is collected and withdrawn, notice wording, rights requests, and breach reporting.
- Minors: the Act treats anyone under 18 as a child and requires verifiable parental consent. Decide the minimum age and what the app must do for users under 18.
- Add the registered office address and name the Grievance Officer.
- Check the advertising section against the final AdMob and consent setup.
- Check the retention periods (90 days for detailed viewing records, 180 days for activity logs, 30 days for backups) against how long the systems really keep data when launched.
- Decide how long purchase and Gold records must be kept for tax and accounting, and how that fits with deleting an account (today deleting an account removes them).
- Check wording on sharing with studios (totals only) against the final payout reports.
